Bob started Industrial Metal Finishing in 1991 after a long and varied career in the metal finishing industry, including positions as president of a major abrasive blast machinery manufacturer, president of an electronic circuit board manufacturer, and a business consultant. He has over forty years of experience as a shot peen engineer and holds master level shot peen certifications.
Mr. Hayden Sr. was one of the original founders of Universal Finishing Machines, a manufacturer of high quality shot peening and abrasive finishing equipment. In addition to his many contributions, over the years, to the shot peen industry he also founded Hayden Aircraft Corporation in 1953, which produced the Bushmaster (an updated version of the original Ford Tri-Motor, the airplane which delivered the first trans-continental air service in less than forty-eight hours). Mr. Hayden holds patents related to both shot peen processes and equipment.
Pete started his career in the metal finishing industry in the early 1960s and later founded A & A Deburring; a successful precision deburring company located in Santa Ana, Calif. In 1999 IMF and A & A merged, bringing Pete’s extensive knowledge of precision deburring and micro surface finishing applications to Industrial Metal Finishing.
Amber is the third generation of the Hayden family to work in the shot peening industry. In 2002, Amber left a career in social work with Los Angeles County, to join the family business. She holds technical certifications (pdf: 208Kb) in Shot Peening from FAA approved registrars.
Illah is the vital link between IMF’s customers and its Production Department. Her efforts assure that our production staff always works to the most current specification, customer drawing, and IMF’s internal quality procedures and processes. She joined the company in 2005 after many years in the customer service field.
When you call Industrial Metal Finishing, Kim is the friendly voice answering the telephone. While her primary responsibilities include accounts receivable, accounts payable, and human resources, she’s also happy to answer job status and delivery questions.
Robert joined IMF in 2002 after a career as Vice President of a large California based bank. Initially contracted to complete a one-time finance project, Robert enjoyed the challenges of working with a growing family business so much that he left his banking career and joined the company full time.
